Security Essen 2026 has closed its doors. Four days in Hall 2, Booth 2B26 — and if we had to file a single report, it would read like this: the questions we travelled 8,000 kilometres to listen for were, almost word for word, the questions we were asked.
Before the fair, we wrote that certificates open conversations and answers close them. Essen confirmed it. Visitors rarely lingered over our IWA 14-1 و نظام تقييم الأداء 68 test reports — they had read them already. What they unfolded on the table instead were site drawings: entrances with constrained depths, gates running hundreds of cycles a day, commissioning schedules that leave no room for a late delivery. Ground conditions, continuous duty, delivery discipline, life-cycle support — the four questions we had prepared for arrived with the precision of people who own the consequences of the answers.
The same four questions that structure a tender in the Ruhr valley also structure one in Southeast Asia.
Two impressions follow us home. أولاً, Europe’s critical-infrastructure conversation has moved decisively upstream: with the EU Critical Entities Resilience Directive now transposed into national law, vehicle access control is being discussed at the design stage, not at the end of procurement. Second — and this surprises no one who works across regions — the questions that decide a supplier are universal.
One topic crossed nearly every conversation: data centres. Europe is building them quickly; Asia-Pacific is building them faster. Our next stop is where much of that specification work is happening. ZASP’s Singapore branch has supported Asia-Pacific projects for years, and our rising bollards, أعمدة ثابتة, road blockers and boom barriers are already in service at government facilities, public spaces, campuses and logistics hubs across the region.
